About

Mark Chinchilla (born April 1st, 2007) is a Salvadoran-Canadian filmmaker and songwriter.Mark grew up in a very musically talented family, his dad teaching him to drum at 10 years old and classical guitar at 12 years old. Mark would later pick up alto saxophone in middle school and would shift his focus purely in playing saxophone until reaching high-school and picking up the guitar again. From there, Mark bought his first electric guitar with his first paycheque at 16 years old, branching off from classical jazz and moving towards rock and all it's different subgenres, his favorites being punk, grunge, and shoegaze.Mark always had the drive to tell stories, creating poorly drawn comic books as a kid and handing them out to classmates and teachers. These comics later turned to simple story-driven journal entries before finding his drive to create music. From there, Mark wanted to create some sort of story or message through song, creating his musical project "iNFMS" along side co-founder and close friend Ricardo Guzman.iNFMS would release it's first single in 2024, but not really being active throughout Mark's years of high-school until Mark moved to college and focused a lot more on the iNFMS' next release, which is currently not publicly known yet.Throughout high-school however, Mark grew really interested in his school's tech programs such as communication technology, media productions, and film studies.Mark always had a love for film since a kid, making small skit videos through middle school and early high-school. Being bored at home during the COVID-19 Pandemic, he learnt to edit on DaVinci resolve, and learnt other software such as Adobe taking these media/film classes throughout high-school. This combined with his drive to tell stories since a kid allowed him to start filmmaking, writing scripts, and fully decide that this is what he wanted for his future.Mark now attends Humber Polytechnic's Film and Television Production Program to pursue filmmaking and directing while working on musical projects both inside and outside of iNFMS.
